Artist Statement:

My work has been greatly influenced by my love of nature and of primitive pottery. This recent body of work continues to explore surfaces and shapes and textures evocative of ancient landforms, archeological finds and aerial views of desert landscapes. My earliest work revolved around traditional looking vessel forms. Developing work eventually left traditional formats and became more and more abstract and sculptural in form.

I’m constantly surprised to discover that what I thought was original to my own work has been done over and over in many variations by known and unknown artists, past and present. I am deeply grateful to all those influences that have provided so much inspiration.
