Artist Statement:

ARTIST STATEMENT
My goal as a woodworker is to produce pieces that combine art with everyday function. I take great satisfaction in using only salvaged wood to do so.  My background in biology has given me a deep appreciation for the beauty found in the natural world that I showcase that in my work.  Using reclaimed materials adds the dimension of character acquired over many years of exposure, I include these natural flaws and blemishes as clues to its past whenever appropriate.
