ARTS ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT
The Piedmont Council for the Arts
The Piedmont Council For the Arts (PCA) vision is to serve as a nexus for all things arts-related in our community…a region defined as Albemarle, Fluvanna, Greene, Nelson, Orange counties including cities of Charlottesville, Staunton and Waynesboro. They provide services with and for artists, arts organizations, and arts educators, and help them serve the community at large by liaising with local and state government entities. PCA’s programs and services encourage access to and awareness of creative and cultural experiences by: Promoting artists, arts organizations, and cultural events in the region by providing web-based resources, hosting celebratory arts events, and co-sponsoring community cultural events and projects; coordinating programs in partnership that educate citizens about the arts, increase access to the arts, and provide forums that address arts-related issues in our community; and, advocating for the arts by creating a unified voice to encourage arts support at local, state, and national levels and by drawing connections between the arts and community.
The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge
The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge represents individual artists and cultural organizations which work and operate in the Greater Roanoke Region. ACBR serves these groups by acting as a unified voice promoting the value of arts/cultural activities to the vitality of the economic and educational health of the region, creating awareness for community engagement and advocating at the state and local levels for arts funding.
