Membership is open to everyone who supports ACV’s mission - promoting the culture of Virginia artisans through education, entrepreneurship, research, galleries and exhibitions.
As the statewide center for quality craft, the Artisans Center of Virginia (ACV) supports and promotes the culture of Virginia artisans through education, entrepreneurship, research, galleries and exhibitions. The Center believes that quality, handmade fine craft strengthens the cultural, educational and economic vitality of local communities.
Heritage — maintaining the culture of quality handmade fine craft.
Economy — providing exhibition and sales opportunities.
Education — encouraging the development of the next generation artisan.
Jobs — developing professional advancement opportunities for the practicing artisan.
Research — gathering and documenting the impact of craft on Virginia’s culture and economy.
Community — strengthening local communities by increasing visibility of artisan studios, venues and galleries.
Networking — promoting peer to peer collaborations among Virginia Artisans.

Craft Artisan Membership ($40 per year)
“All Members” benefits, plus
• Option to participate in regional exhibitions and receive ACV craft fair booth discounts
• Option to participate in the ACV Craft Trail Network

• Opportunity to apply for Juried Virginia Artisan status (ACV juried status is the statewide
recognition of excellence in quality craft)
THE ACV JURY
Juried Virginia Artisan ($25 application fee per media)
Criteria: “Craft Artisan” membership” is required at time of jury application submission
Jury levels for review are: “Basic” and “Professional”
Master Juried Virginia Artisan
Criteria: “Craft Artisan” membership and “Juried Virginia Artisan” with the “Professional”
distinction are required at the time of the “Master” jury application submission
All Juried Artisans Receive:
• Free dynamic online page with photos & social marketing features
• Eligible to participate in regional juried invitational exhibitions, craft fairs, instruct
at the ACV Studio School and with the “professional” distinction may participate in the
ACV Retail Alliance Program
“Next Generation” Craft Artisans/Students ($20 per year, 2 year maximum)
“Artisan Members” benefits at a discounted membership fee for two years before the standard rate applies
Agri-Artisan Members ($50 per year)
“All Members” benefits, plus invitations to behind-the-scenes events and “Meet the Artisan” receptions and galas.

“Patron Members” benefits, plus acknowledgment in program materials, online and special communications for collectors on focused artisan craft events (number of visible placements and acknowledgments customized by level of contribution)
Benefactor Circle Members ($1000 and more)
“Contributor Members” benefits, plus optional high profile recognition as an annual program or event sponsor
Affiliate Member ($100 Non-Profit, $150 For Profit)
“All Members” benefits, plus
• Virginia Craft Industry Network opportunities
• Acknowledgment online and in select program materials

• Employees and members of the affiliate organization may receive $5.00 off their
